Drew was born and raised in the Southwest Colorado area and graduated from High School in Dove Creek. Drew attended college at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado where he received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He then went to Law School in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated with honors and became licensed in 2015.
For the first few years after law school, Drew practiced for a litigation law firm in Northern Phoenix where he gained a significant amount of experience in the areas of Domestic Relations, Family Law/Divorce, Custody and Child Support Matters as well as other areas of Civil Litigation.
Drew, his wife and children moved back to the Southwest Colorado area where he obtained his Colorado license and opened his own practice, Buffington Law, LLC, in 2018. Since then, Drew has continued his practice in the areas of Domestic Relations, Family Law/Divorce, Custody and Child Support cases. Drew has also expanded his practice to include Estate Planning, Business Formations and Contracts, and Real Estate Transactional Law.
Drew currently serves as the Prosecutor for the City of Cortez Municipal Court and has held the position since 2019. He contracts with the 22nd Judicial District Attorney's Office to prosecute cases in the Dolores County Combined Courts and volunteers as a Mediator in the Montezuma County Small Claims Court. Drew's experience in the multitude of legal settings has allowed him to become an extremely versatile attorney to fit his clients' needs.
